Lucy's Adventure at the Market

Lucy, an American girl, was on vacation in Spain. She was learning Spanish and wanted to practice. One sunny day, she decided to go to the local market to buy some fruits.

Walking among the stalls, she heard people speaking in Spanish. Lucy felt nervous but remembered the words she had learned. She approached a fruit stand and timidly said, "Hello, my name is Lucy. Can I buy some apples?"

The vendor, a kind man named Carlos, smiled and replied, "Of course! How many would you like?" Lucy didn't know how to say numbers in Spanish. She thought for a moment and showed three fingers.

Carlos understood and gave her three red and shiny apples. Lucy asked, "How much is it?" Carlos said, "Two euros." Lucy paid and said, "Thank you."

As Lucy walked around, she saw a boy crying. He was lost. Lucy wanted to help. She approached and asked him in Spanish, "Are you lost? Can I help you?"

The boy nodded. Lucy took him to the entrance of the market and asked several people if they knew the boy. Finally, they found his parents. They were very grateful, and the boy smiled.

Lucy felt happy for helping. She learned that speaking a new language is not just about getting the words right, but also about connecting with people. That night, she wrote in her diary, "Today I spoke Spanish and helped someone. What a special day!"
